リソグラフ印刷について
リソグラフ印刷とは1950年代に理想科学工業という日本の会社が開発した印刷手法です。
データを印刷所に入稿し、機械で版に穴を開け、穴を通ったインクが紙に落ちて印刷されます。
この印刷手法では、機械の特性により、インクのカスレや、色ごとの版ズレなどが発生しやすくなっており、作品制作をするときは、色を絞らなければいけない制約や、データを制作しても、印刷してみないと実際はどのような作品になるのか予測できないドキドキ感があります。
一見不便な印刷手法ながらも、一般的なチラシや書籍などとは全く異なる独特な風合いがおもしろく、すっかりこの印刷に魅せられてしまいました。

With the theme of "travel," I create works with a retro feel using an old printing technique called Risograph.
Due to the characteristics of the printing press, Risograph printing can cause ink smudges and misalignment between colors. When creating works using this printing method, I am restricted to a limited number of colors, and even after creating the data, there is a sense of excitement in not being able to predict what the work will look like until I print it.
Although this printing method may seem inconvenient at first glance, I have become completely fascinated by the unique texture that it produces, which is completely different from ordinary flyers and books.

シルクスクリーン印刷について
シルクスクリーン印刷は、1905年にアメリカで生まれたと言われる印刷手法で、リソグラフ印刷と同様に、これも版に穴をあけ、インクを素材に落として絵柄を定着させます。
リソグラフと違いは手作業で一色ずつ色を印刷するという点です。手作業で版の絵柄をあわせるため、ずれは発生してしまいますが、インクが一度定着すると掠れることはなく、版画とインクがそのまま乗った質感があるので、通常のオフセット印刷のポスターやリソグラフ印刷よりも高級感があります。
また、紙だけでなく布素材にも印刷ができるのが大きな違いです。現在でも多くのアーティストがシルクスクリーンで作品を制作しています。
About Screen Printing
Screen printing is a printing method that originated in the United States in 1905. Like risograph printing, it involves making holes in the sheet and dropping ink onto the material to fix the image.
The difference from risograph printing is that the colors are printed by hand. Since the images on the plate are aligned by hand, there will be some misalignment, but once the ink has set, it will not bleed and the texture of the print and ink will remain as is, giving it a more luxurious feel than regular offset-printed posters or risograph printing.
Another big difference is that it can be printed on cloth materials. Even today, many artists create works using silkscreen printing.
